Why Choose Us?

In 2023, Nick became the first Legal 500 editor to enter this field in over five years, making him the top choice for the most up-to-date directories perspective.

We have unparalleled experience as former rankings decision reviewers. This expertise is an unrivalled position to create eye-catching and evidence-based arguments as to why your team deserves improved recognition.

Operating with a small team and without delegation to juniors, Nick offers an editor’s insight at cost-effective prices per submission.

Our service is more flexible, responsive, and personalized than that of other legal directory advisors.

Our client base has rapidly grown, achieving a 100% satisfaction rate. Nick has personally reviewed thousands of submissions over the years, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards.

We work with you to identify the standout strengths of your practice and thus your tickets to a promotion.

We ensure that all content is written in a manner which will resonate with legal researchers.

Nick Voyatzis

Founding partner

Our founding partner, Nick Voyatzis, read History at King’s College London, completed the Graduate Diploma in Law, and worked as a Paralegal before becoming an Editor at The Legal 500.

At The Legal 500, Nick researched and edited six editions of the UK, EMEA, and APAC guides — as well as five versions of the US coverage.
As an editor, he significantly grew his sections in both annual revenue and the number of participating firms.

Through hundreds of meetings with law firms, he observed that even the largest Magic Circle firms were often unaware of key ranking criteria. This led him to believe there was a knowledge gap in the market and that he could be of significant value to firms as a directories consultant.

Throughout his time at Legal 500, every firm would push for increased recognition yet only a very small percentage of submitters would back their claims of grandeur with compelling evidence.

He left Legal 500 and founded LDC to help firms avoid this all too common mistake.

Henry Compton

partner

Henry Compton has a background in Geography and International Development at the University of East Anglia, before earning a Distinction in the Graduate Diploma in Law.

He started his career at The Legal 500, where he spent 18 months as a researcher, covering the UK, EMEA, APAC, and US guides. During this time, he met with hundreds of law firms, significantly increasing the number of participating firms and helping to recognise the very best in their respective fields. His work involved thoroughly analysing submissions, understanding what sets top-ranked firms apart, and gaining first-hand insight into how the rankings are determined.

After Legal 500, he moved to a global legal marketing company, where his role essentially reversed – he was advising firms on how to put forward their strongest possible submissions. He used his insider knowledge of ranking criteria, while also expanding his expertise in other key directories, including IFLR1000, IP Stars, and GDR, among others.
